What we collect
- Your account email and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- The hosts, IP addresses, hostnames, companies, and locations you configure to monitor — this is data about your own infrastructure, entered by you.
- Ping/check results and alert history for the hosts you monitor.
- Any feedback you submit through the app.
Why we collect it
Solely to run the monitoring service you signed up for: checking your hosts, showing you their status and history, and sending the alerts you configure.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. A few service providers process it on our behalf to run HopShot:
- Vercel — application hosting
- Neon — database storage
- Mailgun — delivering alert and account emails
- Vultr — the dedicated-IP probing infrastructure used by Pro accounts
Data retention
- Raw ping results: kept for 6 hours on a rolling basis, then deleted automatically.
- Alert history and incident (down/up) records: kept for 1 year, then deleted automatically.
- Your account, host configuration, and org structure: kept until you delete them or close your account.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can delete any host, company, or location at any time. To delete your account entirely or ask a question about this policy, use the feedback button inside the app.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
